A Brand New Blog (Weblog)

Here we are then, my first post on a brand new clean blog

I must admit that I do like Wordpress, it makes publishing to the web so easy.

Long gone are the days of creating a web page, integrating it with your site, adding links to your headers, navigation bars and footers. Even using PHP / Server Side Includes it was a pain in the proverbial!

With Wordpress it’s a case of download, unzip, create a database in your hosting package, edit 1 config file, upload, install and start publishing!!

Of course the default layout is pretty basic, but there’s plenty of plug-ins both available and in development which can change the general look and feel of your weblog.

I’m currently using a basic WordPress installation and the WordPress theme called MW … well, that’s what I’m using today!! Installing the theme was just a case of download, unzip, upload & apply! A couple of tweaks later and the look of my blog has totally changed!! Must of took me all of 15 minutes!

If I get bored with this theme the process is the same. Search the WordPress Site or Google for a new theme, download, unzip, upload, apply & tweak!!

The hard part is often finding something to write about … but I’m sure that will come in time!!
